Talk with recent clients
Procure a list from the agent that lists down what properties they have listed and sold in the past year. Then have a word with the clients to ask about their entire experience. They would help you get insight on how the agent conducted himself, how helpful and professional he was, how knowledgeable he was, how soon he got the deal wrapped up, etc. This would give you an idea as to what to expect from that agent.
